  • Discipleship

The goal of discipleship is a love relationship. A disciple knows that God loves them, his commands are to guide him or her to what is best for them and that God will give them everything they need when they ask. When you know God perfectly loves you, obedience to God's commands is our response that shows that we love and trust God. If you love me, you will keep my commandments. John 14:15.

  • The Holy Spirit

Jesus teaches four ways the Spirit works in John 13-17. The Spirit teaches as we read the Bible (John 14:26), empowers us to love as we obey Jesus' teaching and produces spiritual fruit in our lives (love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, gentleness, faithfulness, and self-control. John 15:8, Galatians 5:22-23), gives us spiritual gifts so we can put love into action and meet the needs of others (Romans 12, 1 Corinthians 12), and convicts lost people about sin, righteousness and judgment as we share the good news (John 16:8).

  • Read about the Spirit

This 10 week reading plan covers passages that explain what the Holy Spirit does in the life of a Christian and spiritual disciplines; Bible reading, praying, obeying and discipleship.

  • Seeking God and Finding Rest

King Asa always stirs my heart when I read about him and makes me want to do the same. Here is my Monday morning devotional insight to inspire us to seek the Lord earnestly this week.

  • God Who Reveals Himself

God puts a desire in our hearts to know Him. When we respond to that desire and start looking for Him, He reveals Himself to us.

For I know the plans I have for you,” declares God, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Then you will call on me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart. I will be found by you,” declares God. Jeremiah 29:11-14

  • Try the 21 Day Experiment

God promises that if you seek Him and draw near to Him, He will reveal Himself to you. How do we seek to know God? We can read the book He wrote, the Bible, and pray asking Him to show us if what we are reading is true. When you read God's book, God the author is present with you to help you understand it and show you the truth.

Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. Matthew 7:7

  • What is on the Father's heart?

As I start a new year, I realize I need to spend more time talking with the Father and hearing from him about what he desires for us. I need to pray more. I always feel the need to pray more but I am so easily distracted by the busyness of life and entertainment. What should I pray about? Jesus told us how we should pray in Matthew 6:9-14.

  • Asking for Help

They went to the olive grove called Gethsemane, and Jesus said, “Sit here while I go and pray.” He took Peter, James, and John with him, and he became deeply troubled and distressed. He told them, “My soul is crushed with grief to the point of death. Stay here and keep watch with me.” He went on a little farther and fell to the ground. He prayed that, if it were possible, the awful hour awaiting him might pass him by. “Abba, Father,” he cried out, “everything is possible for you. Please take this cup of suffering away from me.

Easter: Evidence for Life after Death

Every year at this time we celebrate a historical event that points to there being life after death. I invite you to listen to the evidence for life after death and what the Bible says about how we can have life after death. You can read my story about how I had a life changing encounter with God that started me on this journey of looking at the evidence for life after death.

  • Mark's Faith Journey

I did not really believe God existed until I was 20 years old. I grew up seeing mostly hypocrisy in the church. I remember hearing the gossip about a leading women in the church who everyone knew was committing adultery and the kids in the youth group weren't very friendly. I'd had enough of religion by the time I was a teenager.
